Lobby Ambassador

Lobby Ambassadors work with our Front Office Team in assisting our guests and ensuring their experience at the Wickaninnish Inn is all it can be. Lobby Ambassadors are responsible for welcoming guests upon arrival, answering phone calls, and performing guest check-ins and orientation.

This position is available for co-op/internship placements (May - October).

As a Lobby Ambassador you will:

  • Ensure efficient and personalized guest service meeting and exceeding Relais & Chateaux, AAA 4 & 5 Diamond, and Forbes Standards.
  • Be true to Our Promise, meet and exceed the service philosophies and standards of the Inn
  • Take and process reservations calls
  • Welcome guests, perform check ins and check outs/guest orientation
  • Answer enquiries regarding the Inn’s services and registration by telephone, email and written correspondence, and in person
  • Deliver amenities (fruit plates, room deliveries, etc.)

Our ideal candidate will embody the West Coast culture, while still being committed to the art of hospitality and pursuit of excellence. They will have:

  • Knowledgeable about, and capable to meet and exceed, Relais & Chateaux, AAA 4 & 5 Diamond, and Forbes Standards.
  • Clear, effective radio communication.
  • Ability to work AM and PM shifts.
  • Sound judgement and ability to work alone.
  • A strong aptitude for attention to detail.
  • A valid BC Class 5 Driver's License. Applicants must be eligible for a BC Class 5 driver’s license and have a minimum of two years of clean driving experience in their home country.
  • A professional and groomed appearance is required.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Must enjoy working evenings and weekends.
  • Be familiar with services and activities offered in Tofino, Ucluelet and Vancouver Island.
  • Ability to carry and transfer up to 40lbs.

A mutual understanding of your employment duration will be determined during your interview.

Salary/Wage: $19.00 per hour.
