As a Houseperson, you will be essential in maintaining the cleanliness and upkeep of the Inn’s public spaces and ensuring the accurate replenishment and tracking of private bars in guest rooms. This role is ideal for someone who takes pride in their work, enjoys working behind the scenes, and thrives in a dynamic hospitality setting. This position completes its work during the early morning hours while most public areas are not in use typically 6 am to 2pm.

As a Houseperson you will:

  • Be true to the mission statements of the Inn. Ensure that the “5 C” standards of Relais & Chateaux, Forbes, AAA, and Wickaninnish Inn service philosophies are followed.
  • Maintain the cleanliness of the Inn’s guest public areas and back-of-the -house.
  • Regularly refresh public guest washrooms and replenish supplies as needed.
  • Ensure cleanliness of The Pointe Restaurant, Driftwood Café and Ancient Cedars Spa.
  • Perform private bar duties such as recording consumptions, replenishment and inventory.
  • Properly dispose of waste and manage recycling in accordance with established standards.
  • Support and promote sustainability practices within the housekeeping department and throughout the Inn.
  • Ensure all meeting and function rooms are cleaned and refreshed daily, during off-usage hours.
  • Respond to guest requests with professionalism and efficiency.
  • Monitor and report any maintenance issues to ensure a well-maintained and safe environment.
  • Assist the team with daily tasks and special projects, including deep cleaning, as directed by housekeeping leadership.
  • Adhere to all safety, sanitation, and WHMIS guidelines.

Our ideal candidate will embody the West Coast culture, while still being committed to the art of hospitality and pursuit of excellence. They will have:

  • Exemplary guest service skills and demonstrated enthusiasm and talent for exceeding guest expectations.
  • Previous housekeeping or hospitality experience an asset.
  • The ability to prioritize tasks and work independently in a fast-paced environment.
  • The enthusiasm and flexibility to early mornings and weekends as needed, adapting to varying schedules.
  • WHMIS knowledge and/or certification.
  • Professional, friendly demeanor with a focus on guest satisfaction
  • Ability to lift, push, and pull heavy items (e.g., linens, furniture) and stand for extended periods.

A mutual understanding of your employment duration will be determined during your interview

Salary/Wage: $20.00 per hour plus gratuities and financial incentive
