They say that good things take time, and the adage certainly holds true when it comes to some of our incredible team members. Our connection with Fouad reaches back to 2018 when we first had the opportunity to interview him during a job fair in Paris. Originally from Agadir, Morocco, Fouad found himself interviewing with several hotels during his time at the event. The appeal of our association with Relais & Châteaux, coupled with us being in the heart of the lush coastal rainforest drew him in, and thus began his nearly 2-year process to relocate to Tofino.

Growing up in a Moroccan city brimming with tourism inspired him to develop his career in hospitality. Fouad has been working in hospitality since 2009, with extensive experience in both the hotel and airline industries. As a Guest Services Representative with us since September 2020, he thrives within the daily in-person interactions with guests. This face-to-face connection is something he truly values, and being able to build ongoing relationships with returning guests is a special part of his job

While Fouad loves the peacefulness of this coastal town surrounded by nature, the adjustment to small-town living was no easy feat coming from a bustling city. Though he found adapting to these changes during his first few months here challenging, he now can’t imagine returning to city life. The strong sense of community and the exchange of positive energy he feels throughout his interactions in Tofino make the town feel very much like his home - although he does miss the authentic Moroccan food from his home country!

Fouad believes that when service comes from the heart, it will be received by the heart. This intention shines through in his presence at the Inn every day, and recently earned him our Employee of the Year award. Fouad’s hard work and incredible spirit do not go unnoticed, and we are grateful to have him on our team.
